artzero children's art workshops are designed to empower children's imagination through creative experimentation. Most workshops run over two sessions, taking the children on an exhilarating creative journey.
In the first session the children are encouraged to explore colour, shape and texture by experimenting with various techniques including vegetable printing, an advanced sponge printing technique and stencilling. The children work independently in a co-operative and free atmosphere. They are encouraged to play and have fun. An essential part of the initial session is that the children learn from each other through group interaction and discussion. They are encouraged to talk about the techniques they have used as well as the content of their pictures.
In the second session the children work collectively to produce a big group picture based on a particular theme. Drawing upon the experimental work done in the first session, the artists actively engage with the children, encouraging them to create freely from their imagination while learning to work as a team.
The workshops always produce much excitement and a great sense of pride and achievement in the completed artwork. They conclude with a group discussion and photograph.
